چکیده

Abstract The innermost region of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 2992 has long been suspected to be location intense AGN–host interaction, but photon pile up in previous high-resolution observations hampered study soft X-ray excess and interaction near its nucleus. We present an imaging spectroscopic analysis circumnuclear (1″–3″) using zeroth-order image a 135 ks grating observation obtained with Chandra, which captured nucleus historically low flux state. Extended emission is detected observed luminosity L X ∼ 7 × 10 39 erg s −1 . majority previous, puzzling detection could associated outflow, indicated by morphological correspondences between figure-eight-shaped radio bubbles. An anomalous narrow line centroid energy ∼4.97 keV found. If attributed redshifted highly ionized iron (e.g., Fe xxv ), required outflow velocity ∼0.23 c alternative explanation that this produced nuclear spallation iron. also find extended, asymmetric K α along galactic disk, originate from reflection cold gas on ∼200 pc scale.

Temporal characteristics of the X - ray emission of NGC 7469

We present a study of the time variability of NGC 7469, based on a ∼ 30 d RXTE/PCA observation. Variability is seen across the X-ray band, and spectral changes are observed. The softness ratio is correlated with the ultraviolet flux, but appears to show more rapid variability. The RMS variability parameter calculated on ∼ 1d time scales is significantly variable, and sharp increases are seen cl...

Detection of Compact Nuclear X-ray Emission in Ngc

We report the results from a deep ROSAT Position Sensitive Proportional Counter (PSPC) observation of LINER galaxy NGC 4736. Two bright sources are detected, separated by only about 1@, with the brighter one coinciding with the center of the galaxy. Neither source shows apparent X-ray variability on timescales of minutes to hours in the ROSAT band. Simple power-law models, typical of active gal...

An X - ray illuminated circumnuclear disk at the center of NGC 4258

Observations of the angular distribution of the water masers in the nucleus of NGC 4258 reveal the presence of a thin molecular disk in nearly perfect Keplerian orbit (Miyoshi et al. 1995; Greenhill et al. 1995). The observed water maser clumps are distributed in an annulus of inner radius Rin =0.13 pc and outer radius Rout=0.26 pc. NGC 4258 is also observed to contain a central X-ray source of...

Constraints on jet X-ray emission in low/hard state X-ray binaries

We show that the combination of the similarities between the X-ray properties of low luminosity accreting black holes and accreting neutron stars, combined with the differences in their radio properties argues that the X-rays from these systems are unlikely to be formed in the relativistic jets. Specifically, the spectra of extreme island state neutron stars and low/hard state black holes are k...
